Located in southeastern Idaho less than an hour’s drive from Jackson Hole, Huntsman Springs promises stunning views of the Grand Tetons and encompasses some 1,400 acres, seventy percent of which will be set aside as open space.
The spectacular setting is ideal for a golf course, and the design relies heavily on the existing wetland habitat. In an effort to produce a cohesive relationship between residential, recreational, and natural components throughout the project, an additional 50 acres of wetlands fed by existing hydrological conditions will be constructed to meander through the golf course as it flows into and through the existing wetlands.
The visionaries behind the project are brothers David and Paul Huntsman, along with their father, Jon Huntsman, a prominent industrialist and philanthropist. Over a thousand Yellowstone Cutthroat Trout have been released into a network of ponds, and some six hundred pheasants have been introduced across the site. Land has also been set aside for a growing population of bison, which once roamed freely on these lands.
The master plan is a result of the Huntsman’s vision to develop a residential/recreational project that fits with both the charming western town and also the natural environment that draws people to this gorgeous valley.
